Exploring principally by train, we’ll encounter a land where tumultuous history has fused ancient cultures into a distinctive civilization along the Pyrénées Mountains -from Atlantic Ocean to Mediterranean Sea. Beginning in Basque country, closely linked to the Atlantic, we will move through the Béarn region where pastoral traditions remain important and onward to experience Occitan culture with its Spanish accents. Continuing into the realm of Cathars, chateaux, and citadels, we’ll conclude our journey of discovery on the warm shores of the Mediterranean.
